I just approved proofs for my first official CD cover design! They should be shipping out in a couple of weeks. Once the album is available online I'll let everyone know! I know there are SOME people out there who like to listen to new music and my friends are totally talented and don't sound like the stuff you hear on the radio. If you like good ole' fashioned rock 'n roll, guitar solos, and feel-good music, you'll dig these guys. smile

ANYWAY - I'm just excited. My dream is to work in the music business so this MAY open some doors for me. I find it quite enthralling and challenging. My full time job definitely doesn't do that for me.

What's something exciting that's happened to YOU lately?

Every day for me is exciting. I continue to work for an eclectic boss who destroys everything I create. They keep sending me paychecks though, so I can't complain.

Is that a duotone or cmyk? I like that look.

Couple of weeks? I hope that includes CD duplication. I do high end printing and not much takes a couple weeks.......

Cool but the whole nothing but clouds above seems to be missing something.

Congrats on your first! Keep it up!

Stone, it's a sepia tone, but all done in CMYK.

And yes, the production time includes CD duplication and shrink-wrapping. I work in printing, too, so I know it could all be done in one night if need be. wink

And I used all the clouds as negative space. To create interest. Graphic designers like to say that stuff to sound cool.

Enjoy the indie CD projects. Getting labels involved turns the process into some real fun......(and that is sarcasm......a LOT of sarcasm). A label's reps can be worse than ANY client you have ever encountered before.

wink

I like it. It looks nice. In a very Western, cowboy, "High Noon", kind of way.

But then again, I'm a fan of Westerns. It's kind of a throwback to some of the "Yacht Rock" album covers of the 70's. smile

It looks good Midnight.

I still think this is the best thing on YouTube. We quote it all the time. When I do something my boyfriend hates, he always gestures like he's slitting his throat and tells me "you're out of the Doobies". And I laugh and laugh and laugh.. smile

"Yacht Rock" is definitely one of the most entertaining video series on the internet.

Now when I hear some old songs, I actually think of the "Yacht Rock" videos. The other day "Rosanna" from Toto came on the radio and all I could think of was the "Yacht Rock" episode with the fat guy playing Steve Porcaro and his quest for Rosanna Arquette. [LOL]

That band does have a good sound and seems to have talent. I hope they do well.

It's a shame that most music industry people these days seem to want to promote the worst garbage that is out there.

So true. I was at the flea market in North Carolina two weekends ago looking through old albums. I saw Loggins and Meccina and laughed and immediately purchased it! (Along with over 30 other albums. But he gave me a good deal...)

"You're mama can't dance and you're daddy don't rock and roll..."

"Fuck You Loggins..!" [LOL]

Call me crazy, but I also kind of thought of Dylan when I first saw your image. I don't know why.

Maybe because he had one of the best songs to be used in a Western (a mediocre movie at that), which he also starred in......

Link....

Looks good - I found myself staring at those clouds for a while, trying to figure out if there was anything subliminal hidden within.
Smooth. Definitely NOT shitty.

By the way, my wife and I are stuck on Yacht Rock one liners these days. I downloaded the higher rez versions from their website and play them on my TV once in a while. We did a little Friday night yacht rock marathon a few weeks ago.
