Well the trial turned out to a relatively easy one (well that is the parts that were not blocked by snow), great scenery, fun wheeling, and lots to explore. I think it would make a great future run for the group. The wheeling is doable mostly in 2wd but there are a few trails that would require 4wd (nothing a stock 4x4 couldn't handle). There were plenty of spots to camp at and way to many trails to try for our two day trip. Imagine Hollister with rocky areas and awsome scenery.

clicky

FWIW we've spent a lot of time up that way. There are a ton of trails to run ranging from 2 wheel friendly to fairly difficult 4 wheel. Here\'s a few scenic pics from past runs. Sounds like you had a good trip!
Nice shots too.

Sure, now ya tell us Gary.... while we took rambling directions from a local on how to get around the snow-blocked routes, turns out one of our own knew some things too. laugh Some of the overlooks were breathtaking and the overall atmosphere (and the company) made even the miles of dirt roads fun. A portion of the Poker Flat 4x trail was still snowed in, although I guess we ran more than 1/2 of it both ways(up to the snow then back out). The poker flat campground looked nice and might be a destination for a future trip.

Cool pics, guys! Some of Akio's shots remind me of those ghost towns near Animas Forks, Colorado!

Look at this I would have never guessed that it's a ghost town...
