I have a cell phone that is used only for outgoing calls. I never have it turned on because my mentality is if I'm not at home I don't want to take phone calls. Leave me a message at home.

After four years dialed in, the last six months I've been out of the network. And damn, life is sweet.

Fewer hassles. Safer driving (yes, I had the hands free). One less bill of 80 bucks.

Apart from traveling sales and docs is there really anyone who *needs* a cell phone?

Wow i went opposite a few years ago. I got to cut the SBC string and their outragous bills to went to just one cell phone.
I do a lot of long distance calling (family and most of my friends live in the west coast and PNW).
I was happy to fire SBC.

Theres something good to be said about backing up with technology. Getting off the 'grid'

So anyone (other than Robert ) have any opinions on which carrier sucks the least?

I had Sprint a few years ago and was pretty happy with them - but then I went cell-less for a couple of years.

I decided to get a phone again a few months ago and I went with T Mobile based on minutes for the money... but since the "incident" this weekend they are being complete dicks about getting me a new phone. Trying to WAY overcharge me for it and reset my 1 year contract.

They all suck! I don't know anyone who loves their mobile provider.

I actually enjoy AT&T.. as much as that might be possible

I never had any problems with T-Mobiles customer service, just their cellular service... hated it... Sprint's customer service was the worst in the world, but their cell service was pretty good... I'm super happy with Verizon's cell and customer service (my dad uses them and drives all over TX every day and has no complaints, either), but their billing is always screwed up... still waiting to try out Cingular... AT&T was just more $$$ than I wanted to spend...
So, in short, Verizon gets my vote...

The one thing T Mobile has going for them is the price... I don't know of any other carrier that has anything close to my $39.99 for 1000 anytime plus free N&W.

Of course that turns into $50 with the taxes... and the nights don't start until 9... but with the small number of people I know, I can basically talk all I want and not worry about the minutes.
