Just wanted some advice,I'am thinking getting a new xterra.Do you guys think 4x4 is a good choice for the DFW area ,for every-day driving?Or do you think 4x2 is the better choice?{I'am in northern virginia now,but looks like I'll be out there very soon,to stay for the long term}does the weather merit it?just some advice guys.Thanks

If you plan on doing any wheeling at all, you'll be glad you have a 4x4. If you don't plan on doing anything like that, I'd say go with a 4x2.

with all due respect hattrik21...I would have to disagree with you...wasn't even being close to a person who goes Offroading...never even thought about going Offroading untill I got my first X...a 2002 4x2 X...biggest mistake I've done...eventually traded it in for my current 4x4 X...so eric k, I would advice you to go for the 4x4 X...you won't regret it...you get the best of both Worlds...I don't know..There something about this vehicle that makes a person go Off the Pavement and into some Rocky Creek beds at times...

To consider weather out here on whether to get a 4x4 is a non-factor. We get ice storms like twice a year for maybe a day at a time. Other than that, humidity is the only thing to consider, and a 4x4 isn't gonna help with that. smile

If you have gone wheelin' before and absolutely hate it, then get a 4x2 and enjoy the 'Xterra Lifestyle' thing. Otherwise, I agree with Rickster, 4x4 baby!

I have to agree with Rick. My first Frontier was 2wd and I had some fun with it but I wanted more. Only way to get that was with the 4wd. Trust us when we say it's addicting!

Nissan shouldn't even be selling 2 wheel drive trucks.

Ramstein = right.

There is no *need* for one in Texas weather-wise... but you'll be sorry if you don't get 4WD because of the fun you'll be missing.
