This is the 2nd annual TNT Bachelor Run (last year Nate was about to get married - this year we're just using the same name again).

I think it is going to be a big/great one - I'm there for sure.

Come on DOWWWWN!

We've got to get some of the San Antonio folks to come out and play... I know it's a loooong way - but it sure would be nice to see some of our more remote club members smile

It's a few miles outside Gilmer, Tx - which is about 1/2 hour from Tyler. link here

Yikes... unfortunately there isn't a good way to get east from either SA or Austin... you pretty much have to come up to Dallas and then take 20 or 30 east... nearly 400 miles from SA. We do go to Katemcy a couple times a year, though - which is fairly close to you guys.

I'm retiring from offroading. Gone throw some 20's on the X and some header and call it a day. Maybe convert it to awd.

You sure can. There are trails for all sorts of vehicles/drivers. One good thing about going with all the guys with mods is if you get stuck, they can pull you out.

Yeah - you'll want to park it when we go on the harder trails - but I enjoy the easier ones a lot, too - we can definitely run some of the 2* trails with you.

If you can swing it between now and then, the one thing you could REALLY benefit from is a pair of sliders (maybe a Christmas present?).
HERE

(WOW - those suckers are like twice as expensive as I remember them! frown - BTW, if you do get these, save the money on the powdercoat and buy some quality black spraypaint... easy to touch up)

The extra support must be a new thing... I had to go looking to figure out what they were talking about::

It's an extra support between the two slider rails (not an extra attachment to the frame). I'd say it's not needed. Mine (and all of the older ones) only have one support and I've never heard of that being a failure point.

A couple things to think about:
1) 4x4parts sells Shrockworks sliders - but they're about $30 cheaper than they are on the Shrockworks site. Plus if you tell 4x4parts you're an SWXC member (you are joining, right wink ) you'll get an additional discount.... but maybe if you call Shrockworks they'll cut you a deal. I dunno... plus if you have family or friends in Houston you might be able to pick 'em up in person if you buy straight from Shrock and save a fair amount of shipping $$

2) Sliders really aren't hard to make... a little steel tube, some cutting, and some welding is all it takes to make a basic rectangular design slider. See HERE
If you pm Nissannut on the TNT board ( HERE ) and ask reeeeeally nicely he might help you make some for super cheap!

I dont really like charging people for stuff I make. I just enjoy building stuff. I only expect what it costs to build said item. Materials cost.

I am kinda swamped right now with another SAS. And making some improvements to my rig.

I have not bought steel in a few months so not sure what the steel prices are today.

I hope to meet you at the Jan 5th run. smile
