Time to start planning the 04' Xcursions smile The 03' ones have been awesome so far, always some surprises & fun stuff, looks like another action packed year ahead wink

I'm gathering the list(s) to be voted on so please submit your desired venues/plans. Everybody is free to make suggestions/comments. However, for the xcursion to be voted on an existing member must be identified as the trail boss and take responsibility for planning and leading the run.

For the first three xcursions in 04 I think we already have some good ideas/plans for them but please comment/anyway:

X49- Joshua Tree NP, 1/17-18
Scenic Cyns, historic sites/mines, trees/boulders; Berdoo Cyn, Old Dale Rd, Brooklyn Mine, Pickham & Thermal Cyns.

X50 Glitter Gulch (Las Vegas) to the Mojave Rd, 2/21-22 (Presidents Day Weekend)
Scenic Red Rock St Park NV. – Rocky Gap trail. Red Earth Mine, Dinosaur tracks; Ivanpah Mts Trail, Cinder Cones, and Dome, Joshua trees; Cima Dome Trail

X51- Anza Borrego St Park, 3/20-21st
Beautiful canyon, wind caves, challenging rocks, views; North Coyote Cyn, Oriflamme Cyn, Fish Creek

The rest are the following so far that I've heard people talking about for multi day runs:

(#1) Lowest to Highest - Bathwater (DVNP) to the White Mts. (Bishop) in conjunction with
Death Valley NP (DVX4)
Scenic views, mines, ghost towns, geo-caching, cabin camping, tourist sites; moderate canyon & shelf roads; Pleasant Canyon, South Park loop

(#3) Oceano Dunes OHV (Pismo) & Los Padres NF, Santa Lucia
Dune / beach running, Steep grades, challenging spurs & Cuyama River; Big & Twin Rocks Trail, Branch Creek, Paradise Rd

(#4) Big Bear / Lake Arrowhead (SB NF) -
Rocky terrain, Forest, Mt. Ridge running, camping, scenic

(#5) Cuyama Peak, Ballinger Cyn, Miller Jeep trail, Hungry Valley OHV (Gorman) –
Forest & canyon running, 100+ acre OHV play area, camping, varied terrain, scenic

(#6) Jawbone Cyn (Mojave) to Lake Isabella (Sequoia NF)
65 miles w/ a 6k-foot climb from the desert floor to the pine forests of the sierras

(#7) Government Peak, Last Chance Canyon, Opal Canyon (Mojave)
Mine xploring, Ransburg Ghost town, views, sandy stream bottom, rock crawling, steep gulch climb, Geo-Caching,

(#8) Johnson Valley OHV, Ord Mt Trail (Barstow)
Rolling Hills, Steep Mts, open valley, dry lakebed, rocky are, sand dunes, mines, 140 acres "Open Area")

(#9) El Mirage OHV (Victorville)
Dry Lakebed, sand bowls, dunes, hill climbs

(#10) Los Coyotes Indian Reservation (Warner Springs)
Hill climbs, rocky canyon, advance 4 wheeling, camping

(#11) Corral Canyon OHV & Los Pinos Mt. (E San Diego)
Moderate Loop trail up to the lookout with so fun side spurs, OHV play areas.

(#12) Calico & Afton Cyn
Historic Ghost Town, Challenging Canyons, Dry Lake Bed, Afton Cyn water crossings

(#13) Painted Gorge-Carrizo Mt Trail & Plaster City OHV (Ocotillo)
Scenic Rainbow Canyon, views from the Carrizo Mts, OHV area with a network of old mine sites.

Rubicon Rubble (Lake Tahoe) – 8/13- 15 (Tentative)
GOX5 (Gathering of Xterra's) Ouray, CO – 1st week of Sept.
