Hey Everyone,
it's been a while since I stopped by! Nice to see the X family remains strong. Finally paid of my 2000 4x4 3PK

I have always wanted to install a 3.5 under my hood. Can anyone give me $$$$ and difficulty feedback. The time has come to investigate this!

This has been covered before. To make it short it is going to be very $$$. First off the 3.5 will barely fit into the engine bay as it is. Then you have to have a custom exhaust made and have the computer wired up. My best guess is by the time you buy a 3.5 and pay for everything to be installed and fabbed you're probable looking at $10K or more.

Whereas for around $3-4000 you could get a turbo installed from King_John_the_Great over on the www.nissanfrontier.net forum.

Nissan actually "shoved" a 3.5 Pathy motor into a 2002 Xterra for GOX II. There are still probably pics of it here on the board. I met one of the guys from Nissan who installed it and he said it was a very difficult job!

It also used the rest of an R50 driveline (tranny, t-case) too.
