Can you take apart the front hub? I replaced the bearings but still getting squeeling. Seems the 4wd does not always engage. Hub was not spinning. Can it be taken apart and greased? what kind of grease?

You can disassemble the wheel hub to the CV is needed but that is too far, im guessing for what you need. When you did the bearings did you do the outers and the inners, if not could be part of the squelling noise. If the 4wd is not engaging is it one side or both? Could be a free running or auto lock hub that locks the 4wd that could be bad or just not disengaging, or a t-case issue. Both units, if your talking about the free running and auto lock hubs, can be disassembled, inspected, lubbed and repaired. Just be careful, lots of little parts and remember the order of parts for re-assembly!!!!! As far as the type of lube most autoparts stores can guide you in the right direction but it needs to be high temp, long lasting multi purpose grease FSM says an NGLI No 2 or equvilant. Hope all that helps some let us know how everything turns out.
