Just curious, has anyone tried an aftermarket ignition on thier X? I.E. MSD, Mallory, Jacobs...

I did a search and came up with nothing.

I have a pertronix second strike ignition that I had on my old jeep, but I have had time to figure out how to hook it up yet. The ignition system on the X is very different from what I knew on the Jeep.

what is the aftermarket ignition for? is it just to replace a broken ignition or are you putting in a remote start? just curious.

Hello, From what I understand the ignition coils will produce more sparks and fire to the plugs.

NOT sure how this will work on the computorize Nissan Xterra's.

In the cars of early years with out computors...having more sparks was a good thing to have. (change mines with one for more fire..wow what a difference it made 86 Dodge ram motor).

Today's computorize motors may not need them. One reason you do not see too many on the markets.

Yet at the same time...lots of guys do increase the sparking in the "fast and furious type of cars. (these beef up motors works better with them).

You do not want to screw up your computor...wait till others try them first!

PS: NOT ME...........Aloha
