Previous versions of these two apps were mentioned prominently in old threads on video editing software. Just wondering what the current consensus is on what's best for combining digital video and images into short movies for sharing via the web and burning to DVD. Which of these two, or has another better one emerged?

I believe I started one of the threads you searched on.

I ended up purchasing Ulead VideoStudio 10. It was SUPER easy to work with, right from the start.

Here's an example of my limited work with it:

YouTube Video done with Ulead VS 10

It's nothing Earth shattering as far as effects go, but it couldn't have been easier to use.

Hope that helps.

Still using Ulead 11, not having any problems, does everything we need. Tried a lot of different demo's before settling into Ulead (as mentioned in those previous threads), but Quicktime Pro was not one of them so I can't comment on that.

Chaulk another one up for Videostudio... I currently use version 11 Plus... I've used it, since version 6, for all my wedding montage presentations... Easy to use and can be exported in several video formats... For the price, it's a pretty good deal...
