His death wouldn't have been a surprise if any of you had seen his latest HBO special.
He had that 'stroke face' where only half the muscles in his face would move when he spoke and he could barely wander around the stage. Add in a spooky deer-in-the-headlights perpetual look and it was darn near impossible to listen to a word he said without getting distracted.
His manager should be tarred and feathered for allowing that one.
I can see how people liked him, I just wasn't one of them. Maybe he was just before my time.

We saw him maybe 2 years ago here in Phoenix. His act had gone from hilarious back in the 70-90s to very dark and not particularly funny.
Still, he was a genius and the rants he went on were among the best routines ever.
RIP you crotchety old fuck.
