I hate the silver metal tail pipe just sticking out of the back of my X. It looks bad. I was wondering if I can paint it? Will any type of paint work, or is there special paint I need to use for the high temp. of the pipe? Any advice would be appreciated. ------------------ Me and my X

you can buy new exhaust tips for $20-100 depending on the look and size, sound etc. Or you could replace the exhaust for a cleaner look and better performance. slr's cat back exhaust: http://www.spencerlowracing.com/products/motors_catbackexhaust.html www.truckperformance.com xterraparts: http://www.xterraparts.com/cgi-bin/miva?...uct_Code=503231 ------------------ '01 SE 4X4 5-Speed Just Blue Ski_Racer27@Hotmail.com AIM: TwinTurbo27 [This message has been edited by ViperX27 (edited 07-09-2001).]

I agree with you Iceman, when my X is all cleaned and polished I hate that flat steel gray tailpipe sticking out. Since I wont be able to afford an exhaust for awhile a chrome tip might be nice, just to make it all pretty like. I agree - that exhaust looks ratty on a clean X. There's nothing ricey about a different tip either. Unless it's 4 or 5 inches in diameter! If your budget does not allow for a high priced tip, here is an alternative: http://www.angelfire.com/nc2/mycoffeecan/page1.html dave and xtoy - and all the extra power... ------------------

I don't know what color you're thinking, but you can get high-temp paint in a spray can from motorcycle shops. I've only seen it in flat black, though.

I bought a chrome tip at Pep Boys for $10.00 and it looks great. And it only takes 5 minutes to install.

Just remember, no matter how much you try and pretty it up, it's still your truck's asshole... Brent

Bought a nine inch crome tip from Autozone, which slips over the tail pipe. Looks good and only costed me $10 bucks.
