I just bought thos stuff called Krylon fusion after seeing the tv comercial. I intend on painting all the grey plastic pieces black. If you are not familiar with this stuff, its way cool. It chemicaly bonds to plastic, so no worries about chipping paint. I'll post some pics as soon as I get some pieces painted. Krylon

I painted my grille with Dupli-Color "trim paint" long ago, not a chip or crack yet. Brent

Scuff it up with 150-200 grit sandpaper first.

Looks good, but now you've got that big grey "XTERRA" graphic on the side to match...

Ive been wanting to paint my plastic bumper and trim black to match my X. I wonder how that Krylon Fusion holds up while offroading n stuff. Im wondering how well this stuff holds up w/o chipping in say a month or 2.

Originally posted by therob: well, since the paint fuses to the plastic it shoulnt chip off.... This hasn't been our experience. We painted our Hella light covers with this stuff. It is no better than anything else. It's chipped, peeled, and made itself unattractive. And we had such high hopes for the stuff.

Hey therob.. how is the paint holding up? I plan on painting mine in a couple of weeks.
Did you remove the pieces to paint them, or mask the whole truck and paint them?

I used the same stuff to paint my hella 500 covers because I wanted it to blend better up front, anyway it's held up well after a couple thousand miles.
