Hi. I just had an unfortunate collision between my Xterra and another vehicle. The result was several scratches to my rear bumper. Nothing severe but a bit unsightly. What do ya'll use to touch up the gray plastic bumpers found on first gen Xterras? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

PS - the other car's bumper was seriously damaged. [Huh?]

You could try very fine sand paper say in the 1000 grit range. Dont know how deep your scratches are though.

Trees and brush work pretty well, just run a reealllly tight trail, and you will never be able to see where thoes pesky scratches ever were.

That or just get new ones, they are about $35.00 delivered to the door.

Thanks guys.

Dave D: the scratches are too deep to be sanded out but certainly some sanding will make them less visible. 1000 grit? I guess I will have to buy some (what I have now is much coarser).

granitex: is "Trees and brush" the name of a product? Where can I buy it? If you are saying it is only $35 to replace a plastic bumper then, well, it's tempting to go that route. But I am really pretty awful when it comes to this sort of work. I look at the bumper replacement option only should it get bashed really badly.
