I have the bvg roof basket which i needed to fab some longer u bolts for. I dremeled part of the bolt while the basket was in place, to my disfortune there are now tiny pieces of rust all over the roof.
ANyone know the proper way to clean this off? Thanks Jay

For my tiny rust spots I use a pencil eraser then dab a bit of the touch up paint on the spot. I have not seen a clay bar but suppose it is about the same.

Clay bar won't damage the paint or the clear coat. It is only for surface contaminants, not a rust spot from damaged steel or chipped paint. For that, your idea or a 2000 grade W/D sand paper and a dab of paint, sand flat when dry and clear coat.
