#173551 - 12/04/07 04:30 PM Removing Body Side Moulding... anyone ACTUALLY done it?

I've searched the forum and there are quite a few "a hair dryer SHOULD do it" posts but none that seem like they are from anyone that has actually removed one.

I've got a damaged one on the drivers-side rear door and have ordered a replacement. I'm just worried about if I'm actually going to be able to remove the damaged one without having to take it to a body-shop.

If anyone has actually done this successfully with a hot blow-dryer, please let me know.

a hair dryer might help, but fishing line works better. 8 or 10 lbs test is what i have laying around. cut a piece long enough to grab firmly with both hands and slide it between the molding and the door. then "saw" thru the glue to get the molding off.

they use your favorite cleaner to remove the glue.

Thanks Scott - Great Idea and I'll consider giving that a try. [drink]
