Ok, I try to be a nice guy, and this is what happens...

I have a manual transmission 4x4 2001 XE 3-pak. I was giving my sister a ride to work this morning, and as I was scraping off the ice from my windshield, and she managed to knock my coffee out of the cup holder and have it land upside down between the shifting levers for the transmission and transfer case. mad mad
Now, I was able to clean up the coffee that was on the floor on either side of the tranny and transfer case, but is there any possibility that coffee may have gotten into either the transfer case or transmission, and what should I look for when I lift up the plastic covering for the shifters to see if any liquid may have gotten into them?

Not a problem. Both are sealed well enough that nothing will get in them from the top. I wouldn't even bother with removing the boot.

Make sure you wash all the sticky stuff off, just for looks, two months down the road all kinds of theings will be stuck to the places that were spilled on.

Cool, at least I don't have to worry about buying/fixing my tranny or trasnfer case (not yet, anyway)

And as for my sister, well, she's been banished from the front seat for a while smile

As for the washing, well, I plan on doing that on Saturday. I'm going to pull up the apholstry to run the wires for my CB (I should have that this weekend) anyway, so I'm just waiting a couple of days before I clean up everything underneath there, and to give the carpet a bit of a washout as well (not that it is ever seen under the rubber mats...to bad they don't cover the entire floor up to and including around the stick shifts frown )
