Well I went to the Mineapolis auto show and was able to get a good look at the 05 X. The one thing that I had a question about, what about sliders on the new X? From the looks of it, the step rails connect to the body and not the frame like the older X's. Will the body be able to hold the weight of the truck if I put sliders on it, or would I have to drill into the frame? I really looked the frame over as, best as I could, looking for any kind of pre drilled and tapped holes but I couldnt find anything. Anyone else notice this?

I've seen this topic (sliders) posted before and I was just wondering what they are? I'm not real knowledgeable in the offroad area.. could you help a sista out?

Edit: just looked through the manufactures row posts and saw some pics. I get it now...great idea and looks good too.

Only details I have heard is there is going to be some welding involved. You can never attach that kind of thing to the body.

Lewers and I looked at that yesterday. We stripped it off of his 03X and held them up the 05. They will need to be a tad shorter and the brackets need some adjustments.

Perhaps they could be bolted, if you were willing to drill through each frame twice per hole and use a nut on the other side. Or just weld them on as mentioned.

Waiting for them to release them... I want them before I hit any trail.
