I'm considering adding the step rails to my 05 S. Is this a do it yourself project? Does anyone know of instructions online before I buy them?

Thx!

Don't get step rails.

Get real rock rails, like Shrockworks Sliders, etc.

The OEM steps are flimsy aluminum POS...they do work as steps, but that's about it...they bend/dent too easily.

The sliders go on the same way as the stock steps, a few bolts per side and you're done eitherway.

If you are using them as steps, save a few dollars and get the steps. If you are going to wheel it, get the sliders. No point in wasting the money on something you won't use.

I think there was a set for sale within the "for sale" section. Quite a bit cheaper than buying them from the dealer. But I suppose you would need to pay for shipping which could be quite expensive.

Thanks all, WOW this site is great! I had a look at the sliders and they look functional enough as a step as well as solid protection.

Thanks for the advise.
