Having problems with overheating in city traffic. Seems ok on highway. Have 2000 model 132,000 miles.

Thanks

could be a lot of things,

1 bad rad cap
2 clogged rad
3 bad water pump
4 dirty rad(mud in the fins)

Have you replaced your timing belt yet? if so did you put in a new water pump?

When starting to overheat just a little, see whether you can feel both hoses coming in and out of the rad. If both are hot, then you're ok. Difference in temperature feel may be an indication of a clog. Also feel the surface of the rad. itself. If there are cold spots, you have a clogged radiator.
