#510264 - 10/12/06 10:22 PM Question about tires (265/70-16) and 3" lift, advice needed!

Hi guys!

This is the first time that I am going to lift a vehicle, all of my previous experience regarding height altering was in the opposite direction lol!

I'm thinking about doing a 3" lift on my 06 S model. I will more than likely use spacers on the front suspension and shackles on the rear, I have read good things about calmini so I think that is the way to go.

My question is will it look bad/weired if I keep the stock S wheels and tires (265/70-16)?

Is there anyone running this current setup, If anyone is please post pics I would like to see how it looks.

Any help would be appreciated smile

Thanks guys!

The tires will look a bit small.

And I think you can just do a 3" BL, as the SL's are limited to 2.5" so far it seems.

If you DO do a 3" BL, when these tires eventually wear out, you will have the option of fitting larger tires w/o a problem.

When the taller SL's are available, you could do that, but its a lot of $ to throw into a 2wd.

they'll look kinda small...

alot of the small lifts give different numbers, but they all end up around 1.5-2" of lift....the 2WD lifts can be alittle more with the spacers, which is probably where he's getting the 3" from..

anywho here's a comparison...

the right one is a coil lift...with stock 's' tires..if the spacer lift is any taller, it'll just look worse..

I think I'll just do the lift when my tires wear out like in 3 years  I saw an X yesterday on the 5 with a lift and stock tires and it did NOT look good.

Thanks guys!

Jose.
