ok, this is weird....

i have a new 2007 xterra s 4x4. everytime, and i mean every time, i go out and start the truck, and put it in gear and go, i hear a "poing" noise right after the fist to 2nd gear shift. it is like one ping, somewhere in the engine bay, but has a hollow metallic sound so that's whay I say poing. it never happens again untill i shut the truck off and startup and go again. this has happened ever since brand new, 1,000 miles ago.

anybody else having same issue?

i am thinking something to do with a heatshield or something. when i take it in to get it's first oil swappage I will bring it up..... should be interesting..
