01 Was giving me problems starting (it would not). Took off top cover for fuel tank and did not hear the pump running with the key in the on position. Hit the fuel tank a couple of times and got the pump running so I could get home.
Ordered pump and fsu and replaced the parts not to bad except for the half a tank of gas that was about 20 degrees. The longest part of the job was having my hand go numb even with nitrile gloves on and having to warm them up under hot water from the kitchen sink. Next time I would drain the tank or do it during the summer.
The old pump had the wires burned and melted on the connector that goes to the pump.
The old (actually 2nd one as I had replaced it when the original one failed)
fsu looked good no visible signs of damage. and was just wondering how to test the old one to see if it still good or should I just toss it.
This is my third fsu.

132,000 miles and still going strong.
