I need to remove the trim piece on the driver's door post. I'd like to run a wire under it. It's the piece inside running from the dash up near the visor. It has a handle on it. I tried removing the handle, but the piece still wouldn't budge. Any ideas?

Assuming there's no hidden screws....

It's probably got snap rivets holding it on. Carefully pry up an end. You'll feel where the rivets are. Work your fingers back till you find the first one. Pull straight out with your fingers on either side of the rivet. Do the same with the rest.

I can't remember whether there are any panels overlapping the one you want to remove. If so, take them off first.

I ran the wire for my radar detector under the same place. I couldn't manage to get the entire trim piece off, but once the handle is removed, it can be pulled up enough to easily tuck the wire underneath.

You must have tucked it under from the windshield side, right Spike?

Actually, I believe I tucked it in from the door side.

I went ahead and bought a tool from Crutchfield made to remove those "snap rivets" It looks like a elongated and flattened out fork. all you do is wedge it between the panel ant the body and gently pry it up. I've yet to damage the panel, truck or the rivet with this tool.
