Since the roads I often travel tend to be dusty, I decided to try the micro-filter available from Nissan. I understand that some dealers add these to the vehicles to improve their bottom line. Sooner or later, you will have to change them.
The instructions available on-line and in the package are for the pick-up. As you might guess, the glove box design is different. Tanks nissan.
To remove the glove box assembly on an Xterra you will need to locate and remove six phillips head screws. Four are at the corners, more or less, of the glove box and the surround trim. Two more are used to attach the loop used for the latch mechanism.
Cutting the slot for a new install or changing filters is straight foward and covered by the instructions.
Be very carefull when working in there - the edges of the sheet metal supports are *very* sharp. Of course, we found out the hard way.
