I have a hose leaking anti-freeze just to the driver's side of the manifold in a REALLY tight spot that's seeming unaccessable without removing the manifold. The leak only occurs when the engine is cold, and leaks a couple of teaspoons at a time. First of all, does anyone know what this hose is, and secondly maybe an easy way of fixing the problem without having to remove the manifold?

Thanks

I fixed mine really easily. I drove to the service department and read the Denver Post and drank a soda in the lounge while they dug in and fixed the leak.

True story.

I don't know if any of the aftermarket items such as bars leak would do the trick or not but would assume it is worth a try. all ya gotta do is pour the stuff in.

Worth a try...

NEVER use that Bar's Leak stuff on any vehicle that you care about. The stuff has pellets in it that are shredded by the water pump and from there go on to adhere to any small surfaces on the interior of your cooling system. Of course, it does not only stick to just the areas that are leaking.
When I was into Porsche's the mechanics I knew told horror stories about people putting that stuff in their Porsches to save buying a $150 hose. Sure it works for a while, but could be bad news down the road.

Bar's Leak for your '79 Datsun? Yes! Bar's leak for your new Xterra? NO! Use that warranty if you have it.

If you mean the top of the intake manifold its the hose going upto the air reilef bolt, but I don't know where it goes from there.

I wouldn't use the stop leak, jsut find out exactly where the leak is.
-If the hose isn't tight enough get a good hose clamp and tighten it enough to stop the leak.
-If the hose is damaged, then replace it with a new one.
-If the air relief bolt is loose then tighten it.
-If its some thing else have the ealer look at it.

Are you certain its the hose. If its that inaccessible its probably hard to see also. Could it be the manifold gasket?
