This morning while driving my son to school, we decided to start teaching him some simple photography. Simple, because that is all I know. Here are some photos from outside our home and a few from within the neighborhood: The Truck I The Truck II Pond on the golf course behind our home The Front Range I The Front Range II Twin Peaks from hole #14 Twin Peaks up close Moon over the Front Range

Nice pics. It looks like a really nice, peacefull place.
Where are the neon lights, traffic signals, billboards, freeways, traffic and crap that I thought all cities had?
Oh yeah, why aren't there any trees?

I have only been here a year and have noticed that you don't find any billboards. Traffic signals really only appear in the cities and downtown areas. Neon lights pretty much are nonexistant. There is traffic, and that is because there aren't any highways. Everything around my house is two lanes. The trees have never been here. You would not believe the cost of a baby maple tree two inches wide - $400. I love the small town boondock feel.

Most folks living in my community are working in the tech industry, which is booming out here. I guess it is like every other suburb, all kinds of people doing all kinds of things. We just happen to be a very small town bordering Boulder and only 20 minutes north of Denver. Here is the cool thing...If I get on I-25 only two miles from my home and drive south towards Denver, on a clear day, you can clearly see Pike's Peak. The interesting thing about that is that the peak is 86 miles away.

The reason for that is development. When houses go in, so do trees. I live south of off2 and my neighborhood was built in the late 50s. There are many large trees because they were all planted 40 some years ago. BTW... twin peaks = Longs Peak and Mount Meeker
