After watching my neighbor spend the last hour trying to get his Rodeo de-iced, I sure am glad that I'm able to park in the garage.

And that I don't have to go to work today. laugh

On a more somber note, I think my crappy metal back porch cover is about to collapse under the weight of all the ice. If it does, maybe insurance will cover getting a better one.

Ya'll be careful out there if you're driving!

We had a similar mess in the big ice storm of 1998. I cleared the windshield and then went to park in the underground garage at the mall across from work. When I got out of work at the end of the day, most of it was melted or loose enough to take off.

However, it's supposed to be 38 in Austin tomorrow, so it will melt off.

Great. Apparently someone running the inclement weather website for our company screwed up. I have to go in now. Wish me luck.

Becky drove all the way down Mopac about 8:30... said it really wasn't bad.

It's melting like crazy out there.

Its not that bad here but everyone freaked out like always. It took Amanda 2 hours to get to work today.

Good thing I work at home today or I'd be raging hard as the roads weren't that bad.

I did however pull a guy out of the ditch this morning while out on a breakfast run. smile

Nice! Here in Lewisville im staying indoors and working remotely.. Got dogs by my feet keepin' them warm, and a bowl of chili keepin the rest of me warm. Even my X is happy parked in the garage.

Sounds like most of Texas is a mess.
Everyone drive safe today.

Just noticed the off-set diff, is that a usual SAS setup?

We had a deal like that here in Atlanta a couple of years ago. The shatter marks in the bottom pic are from me breaking the ice with a rubber mallet.

That ice storm had me on-air for 10 hours straight, yesterday morning, and then wall-to-wall, again, today.... couldn't wait to go out and see it for real...

Watching it come in, on radar, just isn't the same.

On a separate note, I have getting about 1 email every 3 seconds, and am currently over 5600 emails, WITH pictures, since we started broadcasting, on Monday.

It was 29 degrees at the start of the AZ Rock N Roll Marathon & 1/2 Marathon on Sunday morning.

Coldest recorded temp in Phoenix since December, 1990.

Yes, I ran the 1/2 this year. Undertrained and all. [Uh Oh !]

Yeah - front diffs are always offset on one side or the other because the front output of the transfer case has to be off to the side. You hear it referred to as "driver drop" or "passenger drop".

The factory Nissan diff is offset too (driver drop) - you just don't see it normally 'cause it's tucked up in there with everything else:

Yeah pretty nasty in San Antonio as well. Took a while to get all the ice off. Melted a lot today though. Get to go in to work one hour later in the morning.

Be safe!

This has been great. I "started" my new job on Monday at 9am - but they told us all to go home around noon and they've been closed since due to the weather. Nice little vacation cool

I don't know if I'll get paid for the days or not - but even if I don't the chance to settle in a bit has been worth it.
