Ian et al.,

Hi....I have a buddy that works for American Eagle and he says the Eagle 146 will fit the Xterra.

http://www.americaneaglewheel.com/146.htm

146x-7866 is the P/N. How do these specs compare to the stock Xterra 16" rims? So far I have determined that the rims are:

16x?
? mm offset
5.25" backspacing
6 on 5.5

Can you fill in the blanks or correct anything? Again, the manager at Eagle says this wheel will fit...what gives?

TIA,
Chris B

I am not sure where you got those specs from, that part number is a 16x8 with 4.5" of backspacing...without a lift you are going to have contact with the body.

Jeez....sorry. I wasn't clear at all. The specs that I listed were for the stock rims..at least what I have gathered so far. The specs for the Eagles definitely don't match up. I am really wondering why the Eagle rep would say that that P/N would fit when the specs don't match up.

Also, are my specs in the list correct? I am assuming the rims are 16x7 and the offset is 0mm. I figure I am probably wrong though.

Thanks fsrbiker,
Chris B

ps We should add a motorcycle section to the list. My bike is my MAIN form of transportation.... wink

I always had +38offset.. 5.25 bs, 7" width for stock rims....

If I'm thinking right, the 146-5866 would fit better or damn close 1/4" more on the B.S., but you have to consider its a 8" rim, therefore the mounting plate has to be in deeper to line up the interior edge of the rim. It would knock the exterior edge of the tire maybe 3/4" from stock

Thanks for the info....keep in mind though that that is a 15" rim you are citing. In fact, I don't really have a prob going with the 15" inch if it would work....I plan on getting new tires anyway.

The offset and width you have listed are correct for the 16" rim as well? (ie. +38mm and 7" width.)

Thanks,
Chris B

d'oh.. I'm so used to reading 15".. I didn't catch it. I can't confirm the numbers for 16".. I have a habit of logging numbers that apply to my own truck (2000) I think the offset was listed in the manual somewhere as well.. under the specs sheets at the end.
One advantage.. 15" tires are cheaper
