This is a totally dumb question, but which do most Xterra owners prefer:

White lettering showing or not?

I like the look of the lettering out, but it rubs off on rocks so I keep it in.

The winter tires have black lettering, so they just face out. Otherwise they would be in during the salt months.

In the summer it is easier to keep them clean, so I keep the writing facing out.

Personally, I say black out. I don't really like the way white letters look anyway, and after you smear into a few rocks, stumps, and curbs, the white out letters look like shit. If you pretty much don't go offroad go with what you prefer - if you like the letters out, leave them out and watch out for curbs. But if you go offroad very much go with the letters in because they won't last long exposed.

Yeah, I put mine in just because the white looks like crap after about a month. With black out I don't even have to clean the tires, much less scrub white letters and touch them up with white paint!

I have the white letters out. The tire guy asked me my preference, and I didn't really think about it at the time. What people have said it true, it looks like feces after a few offroad trips. Even after just driving for on the road enough. Next time I would get black side out.

As good as they look when they're maintained, white side out looks much worse when they're neglected (like mine ).

I can't remember if they asked me, but I know I wouldn't have said white out, but that is what they did and I didn't notice till after I got home. That said, they look like shit now, stained red from East Texas mud and rubbed to shit from rocks. Black out-yes . White out-no

Like alot of others said White letters in..especially if you do any off-roading..It's really hard to keep them clean and they start to look nasty after a while..

with BFG's white out, I dunno the lettering is much better looking than other tires, thats why I bought them :rolleyes: Whenever the tire guy asks me my preference I just tell him doesn't matter to me, your call. I think they look fine either way. With a black X, I'd definitely have the lettering in.

I drive dirt roads 90% of the time and white faces out I like it.

I keep the white letters out so I can advertise my cheap-ass tires.
