I got the SLR 3'' Lift on and I spoke to Spencer and he said it was designed for 32'' tires. My question is this, I got my eye on a set of either BFG AT' or Goodyear MTR' 285/70/17 that is, I think 32.71. Will the .71 put me over the top?

Considering most 32" tires are actually only around 31.5" in diameter, yes, the 33" tire (32.71" actual) is going to put you over the top.

Unless you either like trimming sheet metal, or have a 3" body lift, it's going to be too much.

The UCA-type suspesion lifts do nothing to add more space for larger tires. The same uptravel is still available; so if the tire can hit the top of the fender, stock, it'll still be able to do it w/ the lift.

You could add bumpstop extensions to fit 3's...or do a 2" BL. (Extensions are easy...but limit uptravel...BL is a few hrs work...but preserves articulation.)

I have the 3" SL/2" BL...and 33x12.5's fit with only the original trimming I did to fit 31's way back.

You are leaving the frame where it starts...and raising the body by inserting (10) spacers, one for each body mount.

The things that are attached to the frame and the body will be 2" further apart when you are done...some lines for A/C, brakes, etc...

Mostly you just loosen them to let the line move, and then re-tighten them...same with the steering...loosen it, strap the column in place so the wheel can't turn...lift, and tighten it all back up.

There are alot of little screws like that, plus the ten body mount bolts themselves.

You will want to raise the bumpers to match, or leave a 2" gap between the bumper and the fender line, etc.

To raise them, you pretty much just drill holes in the bumper 2" lower than the stock holes, and put them back on.

If there's no metal 2" lower, just weld a plate on to add the amount of mounting point you need, and bolt through that.

Troy fit 34x10.5 R16s with a 3" SL and 2" BL. Just a little trimming of the mud flaps.

The wheels are stock 16" spares.

As much as I would like to get the 33's on I must stay the course. I need to get my skids next then start messing with the steering, Calmini TC gears, rear bumper so on and so fourth, shit it never ends. I LOVE IT!

I must of course get new tires my OEM' are at the end of their road, 32's of course Yoko' geolander MT+. Somthing differant.

Thanks for all the info. though. [ThumbsUp]

I run 33's with just an SLR 3" sus. lift and some trimming. 285-75r16's before, and now I'll be running 33"X12.5"-16s..
As long as you dont mind trimming plastic and maybe sheet metal. Crank the steering stops all the way out and install Calmini rear Bump stop extensions., you should be fine..
Oh yeah, and stick with a stock rim. Backspacing is critical with 33's..
