Ok I am first o admit that I am a newb on my xterra and trucks in general.

My 01 2wd X is getting new rubber tomorrow
265/75/16 cooper discover st's

i am gonna mount them on the stock rims with the back spacing of 5.5 i believe.

but in a couple months i plan to purchase some american racing rims with backspacing of 4.5

I rarely take the vehicle offroad so it is rarely if ever under full compression.

I am just wondering will I have to set the steering stops differently or use any spacers or have any super harsh rubbing that can damage stuff on my rig.

thanks in advance

if anyone can point me in the direction of a thread that exactly answers my q's then i will surely erase this one...

16x8, 6 on 5-1/2, 4-1/2" Backspacing

If you go over a bump, you will hit.

If you don't go off road, but want bigger meat...you could do a $50 PML, and turn out the turn stop bolts a bit, trim an inch of mud flap mounting ledge, and probably live happily ever after.

sorry i forgot to mention

i do have a pml along with the exact same trimming you did to fit your 265/75/16 bfg's

I really dont do the serious offroading that would justify me getting the bigger meat but i am 2wd and usually stay within my boundaries when rarely taking the x offroad...

thanks for the help TJ

so will i still hit my fenders?
