Not Xterra-related but since I do at least own an X and since no one at TUNFS has answered the question yet, I'm asking here too:

A friend just got an '06 Frontier Crewcab LE 4WD which has 17" rims (4-spoke alloy). Those suckers cost $690 apiece at Courtesy Nissan so the question is whether any 16" alloys from the '05 or '06 Frontier NISMO, Offroad X or SE would fit without clearance issues. I'm assuming that all 2nd gen trucks use the same rotors and calipers but I could be wrong. She doesn't want to go aftermarket and have to worry about spacers, etc.

If memory serves, Titan wheels are no go. What about Pathy? And are there any stock STEEL rims that will fit an '06 CC?

I asked a tech at the dealership when she picked it up but he said 16"s won't fit, there would be clearance problems and the auto tranny would vomit or something with different sized rims.

as far as i know, i think any wheels from a 4x4 xterra, pathfinder or fronty are all interchangable. Nissan does sell a 16" steel wheel that will fit the xterra, pathy and fronty at $240 a piece (pricey!!) The 4x2 versions of the trucks have a different front end (i think) and wouldnt have clearance issues with most aftermarket wheels.

The tech at the dealer is a fucking knob jockey.
The clearance issues on the 2nd Gen Xs is the disc brakes and the tranny would be fine.
