i have a stock xe. Looking for a good all season tire. Can I use a different size than the 235/70-16's ? Looking to go a bit bigger

A better size is 275/70/16.

It fits fine, and works much better than the 235.

Its a hair larger in diameter than 31".

Some all season's that work well are the Bridgestone REVO AT and the Michelin Cross-Terrain.

If you wanted to off road, the BFG AT ko is a good choice as well.
