I have a planet audio 300w x 2ch. amp. I have 2 10" woofers on it. Here's the ?, ON the amp there are several settings like line, bass boost, and several others. The amp is bridged. What should all those settings be set to? What will happen by turning up the gain to much (and how will I know what is "to much"? Also, what is the reason the an amp getting hot and cutting out?(is it that it cant handle the speaker wattage or is it something else?)

Do you have the amp mounted so the heat can rise up and off the heat sinks? If you mount it upside down or even sideways sometimes, the heat will not dissapate (sp?) fast enough. (remembering that heat rises)
