I have a 2000 Xterra SE. I was looking on eBay and see that someone is selling a BOSE AM/FM/CP/MP3 player from a 2005 Infiniti. If it is just a matter of getting a wiring harness - I am OK with that - but if the manner in which it mounts is totally different - that could be a problem. I am reluctant to bid on the thing without knowing if I am buying something that is going to cause me grief.

No, it wouldn't work. The Bose headunits are designed to work in conjunction with their amps and speakers. They have different ohms compared to non-Bose audio gear. It really isn't worth it. I've had Bose in my last three cars and I pulled them all out. Aftermarket equipment sounds much better...and cheaper in the long run.

i find it interesting that the bose HU looks exactly like the rockford fosgate HU i have in my 05 x. i wonder if the radios are the same, and the speakers/amps are the only difference between the systems.
