I have a stock '03 SE SC. All my dash backlights (during darkness) appear to be on; however, they sure seem dim compared to other vehicles.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Same here... needs to be twice as bright...

Just a quick question... .did you both push it up until it "clicks" or pushes past the dimmer settings and into the full on position?

I tried both.... seriously considering modding it with led's.

That would be a cool upgrade especially during the salight hours. With sunglasses on i can not see the guages at all.

My wife mazda 3 has awsome guage illumination bright as hell during the day then when you turn on the lights they dim out. Wish the x had the same technology.
