Smart Tire Pressure monitor...

Pressure Monitor

Xterraparts.com was wondering if there is any interest in this product and asked for some feed back.

Can you reprogram the warning levels? If not, it would get kind of annoying if you are purposely running low air pressure (i.e. when going off road). Other than that, it seems like a cool gadget to have. I wouldn't mind owning one but I can think of other ways to spend the $200+

The pressure level is adjustable.

Hmm, so if you are stuck, and dont have any other choice, exsept to use a Fix-a-flat, you will be wrecking an expencive sensor ;(;(
Do you realize how many cans of Fix-a-flat you would need to air up a 32" tire? And how many people actually use that off-roading anyway. That is why we carry spare tires.

Perhaps good for someone getting new tires.

No worse than a radar detector.

I have been looking into a system like this for some time now I am excited xterraparts.com has it and at a good price. I like cool gadgets in my X and this is one of them. I don't do much/almost non off-roding so I like the idea to warn you of a possible problem. I do the drive between Lubbock, TX and Fort Worth, TX and I like to have a heads up if I am having any problems with my tire presser. I will buy one once I get $300, and install my grill guard(buying in December) and KC lights (WHich I already have). Or if they go on a supper sale.

Carlton: the reason i deleted my message, before you posted the responce to it was:

the reasons i listed were ONLY my reasons, and different people will think differently

I hide radar detector, because the truck will be broken into , and the detector will be stolen

it only takes 1 fix a flat , and a CO2 tank or a small compressor to fix a nail hole

it is perfect for some one geting new tires , you are right there !

Thanks for the info Carlton. Is it me or did Xterraparts just add the little note that the pressure levels can be adjusted? I know I couldn't have missed reading that the first time around.

[edited to add] That remote display unit is sweet. I would love to be see the actual air pressure and temperature for each tire! I just might have to save up for one for Xmas[/edit]

No thanks. I have a perfectly good tire gauge that cost me 1/10th of that that suits me just fine.
