I was searching through some old posts and never really got an answer to my question. It seems others have the same problem from their significant other as well. [LOL] Does anyone make and after market vanity mirror w/ built in light (maybe w/ the use of a special battery)? I was wondering if the Altimas, Maximas, Muranos, or any other Nissan made vehicle might work or if there's an aftermarket company that makes them. I know I can get a clip-on at Walmart or something, but I'd rather have it built in if possible to look nicer if you know what I mean.

I'm sure Nissan carries them...when I got my X, I got them to throw in some stuff before I signed any purchase agreements, and one of the Items I insisted on was a Vanity Mirror for the passenger side Visor (for the G/F) ...it wasn't exactly the kind you lift up and a light comes on for the mirror, but it's a OEM Nissan Vanity Mirror that they put on for the Visor....not at all cheesy like the ones they have at Auto parts stores...

Mine came with a mirror, but no light. I was just wondering if there was one that would work with a built in light for the Mrs. confused

I ended up a getting medium sized make-up mirror (regular and magnified), and it stays in one of those CD Visor holders. My better half prefers it more, since she can remove and use it, and she doesn't have to lean into the visor.

This is the gods honest truth. I owned an 01 X and just traded it in for an 03 X. I brought the X home and showed it to the wife. Without a word she went to the passenger side and checked for a mirror. The 03 has a vanity mirror. She said "cool I like it" and went back in the house. She wasn't interested in all the new features or the horse power or for gods sakes it was a 4x4 instead of the 4x2.

I have thought about this as well with pressure from the fiance. What I was thinking about doing was cutting a section of the fabric out and then just sticking a mirror to whatever material the visor is made out of. Then I was going to get some fabric trim to put around the edge to make it look natural. If I can find a battery powered mirror I will do that but I am not going to go out of my way since the maplight works just fine.

I wonder how hard it would be to get one off an 03 and run power to it...

I am so glad my wife doesn't require a vanity mirror. They should be banned from all vehicles.
