I've got a dilemna: My work is requiring that I work until 8pm on Friday's now, so I don't know what to do as far as the club meetings.
I was wondering if for the summer at least until I get my hours changed, we could do a Saturday afternoon meeting / bbq either at peoples houses or at a park? I could volunteer for June or have it at the Anthem park and play some volleyball?
I actually think it would help attendance too for people that can't make it by 7pm on Friday nights. We could just plan on doing it the first weekend of every month (excluding Holiday weekends)
Mike, I know you work most Saturday's, but this would be late afternoon / evening. Would that work? Just wanted to get some feedback from the regulars before asking the group.

Saturday afternoons are OK for me as long as it's after 3:30-4:00ish. It would be too hot outside for anything before that anyway in the summer. Even later in the evening might be better. One thing that may be a concern, people out of town or busy on a weekend, especially in the summer. I'd volunteer to have a meeting/bar-b-que at our house once the pool is in but it's a long drive for some members.
There's always different places to hold a meeting. We can gather for 15 minutes before a group outing, i.e. bowling, movies, dinner, miniture golf, etc...
Our attendance has been so so, maybe we could liven it up to more of an event? Just some thoughts.
I believe you're on the right track though Brian. I wonder if our community center would allow a group attendance thing at the waterpark?

Sounds fine w/me, too. Friday evenings are kinda hectic, anyway. We can meet at my house some Saturday if you want. We could do a pool vball game or whatever.

How about a meeting/landscape Ryan's yard party?

Yeah all my weekends are free. I needed another weekend activity, never have enough of those Have the meetings before the runs, during after. I always like to point out that we are the ONLY organized club in Arizona that does not meet on a weekday evening. Still doesn't help your 8 p.m. meeting. We could always go to fuddruckers first and then have the meeting, you'd be off by then.

My bad, I think I started that long ago for the people that didn't want to make a "late night" during the week. We've really never had anything run that late, even with dinner afterwards we're done by 9:30. I'm not opposed to showing up during the week as long as it's not on bowling (which I'm not doing at the moment) or softball league nights. Everyone has at least one day like that I'm thinking, there's never going to be a time when everyone can make it, this discussion seems familiar... I'm still in favor of Brian's meeting/event idea. More fun, more attendance....that could work. The club was made for Xterra owners to have fun, we can incorporate that into meetings too. Not that there's anything wrong with them now (in my opinion) but attendance seems to be the same small group of people over and over without it growing new members routinely. I thought we'd be around 100 members by now.

I like the meeting /run thing too, is that what you are talking about? Go on a run, attend a meeting. All in one fell swoop

Hotmail sucks. There were times I had to re-send stuff to people with hotmail accounts because they would kick back, your's being one of them Jason. Lee also had the same problem with them kicking back only with certain emails.
