FYI - These are what the Fourtreks (www.fourtreks.com) HiLift mounts look like. They're really nice, and easy to use. Downside, expensive. $65 shipped.

Yeah, a little spendy for a mount, but hey, they don't look like a "hack-job". [ThumbsUp]

As far as a lock goes, I'm debating some options. The mount has holes in the base that can be looped through, and of course I could just loop a wire type lock onto the roof rack. Any thoughts as to a good option? I'd like some type of combo lock, and not to use locking nuts or something like that. maybe something like those cable locks for computers. I could loop it through the jack and lock it down. Hrm..

I want to keep the easy on/off aspect of the jack/mounts.

They look like sweet mounts, Are they different than the ones in the picture though? I dont see the holes in the one in the picture. What about using a cable lock that is used to secure a pistol, they are short usually the cable section is covered in clear as to not mare the surface and can pick them up cheap if not free, in fact i have about 3 extra if you want one to try. laugh

Mike,

Not sure what a pistol cable lock looks like. Go ahead and bring it to the next meeting and we can try it out. If you look at the second picture I took from straight on, you can see the hole I'm talking about in the triangular piece of the mount that holds the jack out away from the roof rack.

Also, you have email. I'm in the market for new tires for my other car, and had a few questions for you smile
