Yep. I am new here and just gathering info to see which model(s) I might get that are capable of towing a 3600 lb car + 1500 lb trailer.

Towing capacity for the Xterra models is 5000 pounds.

That is for AT and MT's in the 2005's.

The 2000-2004 the AT's can tow 5000 pounds. The MT's tow less but I am unsure what their limit is

MT limit is 3500 pounds

Sounds like you'll need a Titan or something larger with a diesel engine maybe???

Not sure how the new engine does with towing at full capacity but I know the old engine worked but wasn't spectacular by any means.

Plenty of threads here that will varify that the 05-06's can carry full weights ( 5000 lbs and 500 lbs at the tongue ) just fine.

Good stuff with the '05's!! I've driven the 05 X and the Fronty and the engine sure is an improvement.

Looks like his car 3600lb plus trailer 1500lb puts him over the 5000lb mark though....

I will ony be towing around once a month at most, so as long as it will get the job done safely I don't care. I already searched about the 5g limit but I might end up going over the limit. Damn...

Sounds like an X is going to be at or beyond its tow limits. I'd agree with the Titan suggestion.
