Looks like I'll be installing a lift kit for VACA from Tucson this Sunday. Just thought I'd post it in case anybody wanted to drop by and watch, learn, visit, help, whatever. It'll probably take my full day, so unfortunately there won't be any time available to work on other peoples trucks, but you're all welcome to stop by and meet another fellow X owner and shoot the shit. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll get directions out to you if necessary.

I miss all of the good stuff~ I'll be moving heavy items to Anthem on Sunday. You've got quite a X-Garage going there Craig!

Vaca's lift is in and it looks great and rides better.
I'll post some pics in the morning, too tired now.

It's 957.6% better on the highway. 276% better in city driving. My lights whistle too much, but that's not Craig's fault. The little rubber weatherstri started falling off due to the weird air pattern the lights cause (IMHO) and started falling off @ 80MPH. I had to pull off and fix it. Anyway, the lift is awesome and so is Craig!

are you talking about the rubberish weather strip on the bottom of the wind defletor thingy on the roof(am i a master of tech-speak or what)? if so, they just come loose in time... It was a flaw in the 2000 design... about 40k miles they start to go to hell... its a cheap fix if you go to the dealer... i think that some dealers even ate the cost... if they dont, i seem to recall it was under $20 to get the weather strip designed for the 2001(has a ridged metal clamp in it that holds it on better) I'm cheap... mine got Epoxy resoned to the deflector, its been problem free for 2 years

A couple of bucks at a parts store, buy Permatex Black RTV silicone. It's primarily used for gaskets and such. It's high temperature, matches the black rubber strip and I've had mine on that way for 2+ years. Just put a small amount in the bottom of the rubber gasket and push it back on. Wipe off any excess.

My UCAs broke of and I am now dead on the side of the highway. Nice job, Craig. Actually, I swear it even brakes better. It certainly doesn't dive. I'm going for an alignment today, I think. As for the wind shield, I am going to hop on I-10 and run it with and without the air dam thingy. Maybe it's quieter without it Regardless, I'm going to epoxy or caulk the weatherstripping rubber gasket strip hose thing onto the damn dam.

The air damn will vibrate and smack the crap out of the roof... could even scratch it... [embarassed]Not that i would know from experience... as I would never do anything that foolish [/embarassed]

Don't worry about a 1/4" now, wait for a week or so and then re-adjust your torsion bars. Then you should be good for a long time.
