Hey everyone - we're headed out to Saguaro to have some fun wheeling in the coves and BBQ tomorrow. If you want to join in (we're hoping there's some mud!) - meeting place is Ft McDowell Conoco at 9am.

Can you give me directions to Ft McDowell?

If your coming from Chandler as your profile indicates it's probably easiest for you to take the 101 north and exit at Shea Blvd. Take Shea east until you get to Fountain Hills.

I believe the Conoco is on the right hand side just before you get to 87.

If I've got the wrong station, someone please step in and correct me but this is the one we've always used prior.

Sweet! Would this be a 4x4-only, or would a stock 4x2 have plenty to do, too?

I would recommend 4x4 - only because there's a couple hills that you may not have the traction to get up otherwise. We're going back to the 5th or 6th cove, which is pretty much only 4x4 accessible.

That would be the way long way.

If you are near the 101 take it North to 202 East and exit on Gilbert Road. Exit go North (left) to the Beeline Highway (State Route 87) which is two lights North. You can't miss it as Gilbert Road ends there.

Take a right on 87 (East) and travel until you get to the next stop light, which is a few miles at Shea. Continue on eastbound on 87 and there is another light at the Fort McDowell turnoff. There is a Conoco gas station there on the right, real hard to miss it.

You're thinkin of the Texaco I think Craig.

tremor, them swankY be good folk - but they do appreciate their 4-wheel'n. i've been on 3 or 4 of their to-do's, don't think any of them were safe for 4x2s.
