Hey Brian any news on the new snorkel? Does anyone know about taking out your resignators in the X's intake. In talking to Matt at GOX, he took his out with the installation of his snorkeland got better gas mileage and a little more Uuumfff to go up the hills. I was wondering if the removal of these would increase your MPG or is it the snorkel.

That's what I was going to tell him also. I'll send you the link tomorrow if you don't have time to search. I wouldn't mind doing this as well, although it is up in the air if it actually increases your hp /mpg. At any rate, it does make the air flow seem a bit easier.

Great thanks for the help guys. Ya I am going to do it as soon as I find out the right way to remove the stuff. It dosn't sound like anything bad will happen if you do remove them. We could have a group removal party.

I took out the top one and it took maybe 2 minutes. I used a cheap 1 3/4" clean-out plug from Home Depot to plug the intake, and it works fine. I plan on yanking the other one out soon. It's not too hard, really.

Count me in for next week some time. I was looking at it too and it doesn't look very hard. Hey Brian would your brother have the tools to fab a intake? I was thinking too it wouldn't be too hard to put my own snorkel on if I had the right stuff. Let me know when you guys want to get together.

Whoa- Do you already have the snorkel or are you thinking of making one??
We'll have to see what you have in mind for the intake.

Todrick, I don't think we did pick a date. This weekend was no good and next weekend is the Xcursion.

We'll have to pick a week night or something

OK guys, if you want we can do it at my house I've got some tools. Who ever wants to do it just post any days that will not work. For me the only day I have trouble with is Friday. I will check this page tomorrow and see what you have to say. We can do it tomorrow or any other day is fine also.

I'm LAN Gaming Thursday but everything else is open. I haven't done my lower resonator yet since I lack the tools, too.

Any other night would be cool.

I'm free any night except for Sat night. I've got some basic tools, although I have no idea what you need to remove these things.

Let me know.

One thing you DO need is a plug for the one on the engine-side of the intake hose. I used a black PVC cleanout plug from Home Depot, 1¼" diameter. Anything around that diameter that'll seal it off will work. It'd be best to have something flat, but the cleanout plug will work fine.

So from what I'm hearing Wednesday sounds like the day. Lets make the time for after 5pm. Please give me a call if this works for you and let me know what time you'll be coming. There is a Home Depot really close so I figured we would play it by ear. My number is 602-694-2047. I'm lookng forward to getting together.

Aww crap. I have a meeting at 7PM. Travis, where abouts are you? I'm hoping you are somewhere in North Scottsdale....

If so, I could start at about 5:30 or so...hopefully it won't take more than an hour?

I'll give you a call tomorrow.
