While over at Craig's the other day, we talked about a subject that had been brought up before I was around, but obviously didn't happen yet - creating a club "Spare Parts Bin".

Craig gave me a few goodies from previous installs, leftovers, etc.

I now have a few misc items including:
  • a couple stock tie rod adjusters
  • idler arm assembly (I think I have one add'l burried somewhere in my garage)
  • Rancho single Add-A-Leaf set
  • Stock torsion bars
  • Stock rear shackles

I think that's about it for parts in my possession, but how about we discuss the possibilities of who with/where we could store these parts in case someone breaks something, gets stranded, etc.
What are some options? What do y'all think? smile

Sounds like a good idea to me. I've been buying spare parts/mods from people on the XOC and other places, just in case I break something. I know when we ran Crown King with Ryan and Travis, Lee saved the day by bringing up a tie rod adjuster.

I don't think it matters who has the spare parts as long as someone can go and get them and bring them to who ever is stranded. That's assuming the parts aren't brought along in the first place.

I've got some items I can throw in. I think the President should carry them in his truck since he'll have to be at every Xcursion!

You guys should all have stuff like that in your own trucks. I've got old shackles, spare shocks, extra tie rod, old belts, old t-bars, fuses, electrical wire, JB Weld, Oil, brake Fluid, Gear oil, etc.

Everytime you do a mod or replace something, put the old part in a bag and take it with you. Especially the TRE's, which I carry even though I have the Calmini steering. I went to Play it again sports and bought an old baseball equipment bag and everytime I go out I just toss the bag in the back.

JW (SWANKy) has a bunch of tie rod assemblies at his house. I gotta go over there tomorrow and I'll grab them for anyone who wants them. Not sure how many he has but he only wants like 10.00 each. They are the whole assembly.

I'm glad to see everyone pitching in on this. I don't mind carrieing the spare parts but if I'm not able to make it for some strange reason I'll need a back up person. Lets all get some more mods so we can have more spare parts!

$10.00 is all? How many does he have?

I'll take one assembly for sure - 2 if there's enough to go around. I already have a tie rod adjuster as part of my personal parts bin, but an entire assembly or two would be great. Just tell me where to send the $$.

I'll grab all he has, don't know how many...I'll have them for Coke Ovens on Sunday.

I know some guys who carry spare half shafts even.

- tie-rod connector
- bent sway bar quick-disconnect
- sway bar connector (ftont)
