I like the way these look but was told that since i live in arizona (where its obviously hot, dry, and the sun always beating down) that they would not last. Is this true? I wash my x every 2 weeks, can they handle going thru a drive-thru wash? Thanks for your time!

I have them on my truck and have not had a problem. I have only had them a couple of weeks and I don't see any wear and tear. They are the type that seat in the window channel. That seems like an outrageous statement. As for car washes, I had them on my old truck (2000 Xterra) and never had a problem with them going through car washes. They were the 3M stick on kind.

PS. Check out our website and come to a meeting. We always enjoy meeting new people and the more the merry on Xcursions.

thanks for the info! Is there any particular brand or place to get them...or doesn't it really matter? Which is better...stick on or the ones the use the window seat? I'd like to make the meeting since this one is on my side of town at B & B. I fly in that day (15th).

i have the stick-on kind on my truck and they're doing just fine. although i go through the opposite weather as you, mostly snow- we have had high 90s the past week smile ive taken it through car washes before as well, never had a problem- they're pretty tough- even had them whacked by a few branches laugh mine are made by vent-visor i do believe, goodluck!

I have had the window Visors on my X since 2001 and they have seen very harsh Michigan winters and now the second AZ summer, they have held up excellent with no issues what so ever. I don't use a car wash for my truck though, never have. Don't know how they would hold up in that aspect.

I was and am happy with both types. Just depends on what you want and what you want to pay. Do some shopping on the net and find your best price. That is what I generally do when looking for add-ons of this type.

See ya at the meeting!
