DBAX and I are heading up to Sedona to break in the '05. Anyone want to tag a long?

I'd love to see that '05 in action, but I have a few more items to get out of my Mom's house before we can close my sale. Maybe next time. Have fun. [ThumbsUp]

If I could get my Scout up there, I'd be all over it... Maybe I should buy a tow-bar and drag it up there. smile

Got the top off of it last night and put the crappy seats back in.

Damn I love that thing. You going to lift it at all John, or just keep it at that height?

My wife veto'd the idea of me getting one, unless I find one really cheap. I just landed a 20% Pay raise, my hopes are now resting on an 05 4x4

Congrats on the raise. [ThumbsUp]

Yeah, I just spoke with the southwest4x4.net owner and I can get 1.5" lift shackles front and back with new greasable bushing bolts for about $125 total.

Then depending on how the new tires fit I'll probably do a mild AAL for another inch or two. I have the 30" tires to put on to replace the 27/28 inchers - still need to check with Major to see if he still has his 2 leftovers. Then I'll have 4 of the same brand and two decent spares. Trying to keep this one "under budget".

Damn, I wanna go to Sedona! Soon though...soon. [Too much XOC]

I would love to go to Sedona this weekend But unfortunately I have Duty and wont be available... Although I would like to run the White tank mountains next week if anyone is interrested in joining me for that.

Hey John if its any help... We can take those tires over to Luke AFB and use their mounting and balancing equipment for like $2.00 a wheel, they have a full service shop with hoists and tools we as service members we can use laugh

save you some money on the scout anyway , just a bit of drive. Let me know..

[ThumbsUp]

Well, I am available to go out next Sunday too. Got to work Friday night shift so that shoots Saturday for me unless something is planned for the afternoon then I am game or gamey if I don't shower. [Laughing] Let's see what we can come up with for Sunday. Grn-X mention White Tanks. I didn't know there was offroading in the White Tanks.

Heh - yeah, that would be cool, Mike. Know any artists? I'd end up making it look like a dead javalina.

I may end up doing it solid "rustoleum hammered brown", like the interior (interior is pretty much done - the paint, not the seats - those are destroyed, but useable).

Found out my temp gauge works too - woohoo! If I can get a new fan belt, I might just drive it more than 4 miles at a time!

Have fun up in Sedona you guys - should be beautiful up there (as always). [Wave]

He's right John, it'd look great [ThumbsUp]

I can give you a hand with that, just stencil the pattern out and lay it down in layers.. Even better with a nice khaki or OD soft top [ThumbsUp]

Yeah! That was fun, the new X handles great, stock tires and all. Defib's got to be the first '05 on the Sedona trails [ThumbsUp] . He even got a hearty welcome from a pink sheep tour driver who'd just bought himself an '05 NISMO Fronty laugh They were both definitely jazzed. After watching the transfer-case knob in use, I've gotta' say, it ain't all that bad.. Easy to use and perfect results. This could possibly eliminate a lot of newbs wondering,"how do I get in 4wd"? [ThumbsUp]
Great day for a trail (or 3) and the '05 was right at home on the slopes this afternoon smile .
