Couple of friends from work are wanting to backway to CK this Saturday, 4/29 after we get off work. Any and all are welcome to tag along.
We get off work at 08:00 that moning, and are going to meet at the firehouse at 99th ave/ Bell by 08:30 and head up from there.
If you do not want to head over there, you can hookup with us at the Carefree hwy/Lake Pleasant rd intersection or the trailhead.

are they driving sentras. Since they road graded the trail about the first 17 miles really doent offer much of a challenge. Keep us informed on the trail conditions, rumor has it they are going to grade it all the way to CK.

I just ran it a month ago or so, it was as difficult as ever. I mean, not for me, but you know, for a sentra... wink

Here is a link to where I got most of my information from. I guess most of the Obstacle are still there I guess but the road is being developed for land sales. LIke I mentioned keep us posted on its condition please.

Ok....so I ran up to CK today with a friend from work (Jeep Scrambler, 7"lift, locked, sweet ride really), and it was a good time as the backroad always is a fun trip.

As far as the condition of the trail:

When you passs the "Road not Maintained"sign, and make the turn at the painted "CK" rock, you realize someone has graded one of DBAX's favorite spots into oblivion.

The above behavior is no longer an option at the begining of the trail, as the wash has been plowed under.. mad

For the next approx 5 miles, you could take my wife's TSX on the graded bybass of obstacles.
There are still the "optional" obstacles to challenge you, but the bypass is a very passable dirt road now.

Once you travel the graded area, the trail begins to resemble its former self, and quickly becomes the rugged backroad to CK we all love.

So, while a chunk of the trail has been stolen from us, the overall experience is jsut aas pleasant as always. [drink]
