Yayyy - AC finally stock the Diff armor for the D44 rear on my 05. I'll be feeling alot better about going near rocks again once I get this installed

Will be ordering some more armor from Black Panther soon. Once I get that pesky lift installed.

It's called sex panther.. It's illegal in 9 countries, and it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good... It works 60% of the time everytime..

Unfortunately, I will be ordering nothing new until the baby arrives. Then I will get all the armor I need. Plus, some snipping but we won't go there.

Be interested in hearing how much ground clearance you actually lose. Still thinking Shrocks idea of a new cover plate might be the better way to go.

Looking at the thing - It hugs the diff pretty good, so clearance loss will be maybe 3/4" at most. I'm willing to lose that to prevent going through what happened when I pealed the cover last time.

Think I'll wait and see what Jim comes up with for a new diff. cap; 3/4" seems a lot of clearance to give up.

Armor = No hit on warranty. Taking the cover off and putting a non OEM diff cover on there - Bye bye warranty coverage. I'd just rather protect the OEM gear in this instance, rather than voiding my warranty with a non-oem replacement.

I don't think Jim has an ETA yet on the cover. AC is available now and I know Roger is "chomping at the bit" to get back out there. Plus as Roger mentioned there is "No hit on warranty" - for $125 - it is cheap insurance now !!

Mine arrived and in about 45 mins was installed. Nice easy install - To pull the cover is not a nice job - Believe me, I did it twice.

At least when someone is driving behind you and hears an awful grinding sound they won't have to worry as much.
